Chairman receives an honorary doctorate

Distinguished international researcher Steffen L. Lauritzen, professor at the University of Oxford and Founder and Chairman of HUGIN EXPERT A/S receives an honorary Doctorate from Aalborg University.

A distinguished researcher and recognized expert within the field of graphic probability models, Steffen L. Lauritzen is one of four to receive an honorary Doctorate from Aalborg University for his substantial contribution within the field of graphic probability models.

For over 20 years Professor Steffen L. Lauritzen was a driving force behind the construction of the mathematics research environment at AAU. His research, combined with his active promotion of cross-disciplinary cooperation, was instrumental in making the Computer Science and Health and Medical Technology leading institutes in applied decision support systems.

Steffen L. Lauritzen became Professor in the Department of Statistics at Oxford University in 2004, and continues to cultivate research ties to Aalborg University, in particular in forensic science area. His research articles span a wide range of subjects and have been published in leading international mathematics journals.

Professor Steffen L. Lauritzen is recognized as the leading expert in the world within the field of graphical statistical models.
